*THE PAIN AND INSPIRATION OF REMEMBERING*

Today has been a difficult day. I spent the night very ill and finally went to sleep at 7am. As I awoke, it was like I was transported back to the pain I felt during ECT. It will be 3 years ago this July. It was the most grueling and painful time in my life so far. I realized today how much healing has come to me since then. It has been so slow and almost invisible...and yet Heavenly Father HAS been healing me. Maybe I needed to be remided of how much He is/has been doing for me. Especially because I have been feeling ungrateful and ignored by Him.

I have tried to be brave all day and work through this pain of remembering, but finally the tears that started to roll turned into great sobs. I never want my blog to be depressing to others and yet...I MUST speak up and share some of these things. I HAVE to continue to find a voice for those who are going through this painful disease. One of my greatest sorrows is that I'm not at a point where I can truly help people yet. When you are not healed yourself...you can only offer what you have. I just hope sooo much that one day I really will be able to offer the love, compassion, and ANSWERS to help people endure, find a form of peace...and give them great and DEEP understanding about this. The reason I desire to do this is because it is very difficult for a person suffering depression to feel help from
God or others. Your mind is full of confusion and you only feel pain. It truly is only given to those of great strength, and by no means do I ever praise myself. But I could not have made it through such a trial had I not been given an inner strength that surpasses even my own understanding.

On Memorial Day I usually take at least one photo of a flower. Yesterday I didn't do anything but sit outside and read about Abraham Lincoln. The book is called "Lincoln's Melancholy" (How depression challenged a president and fueled his greatness) If you have never read the book, I recommend it. It is sooo inspiring. It has been highlighted, starred, marked and ready many times. Each time I am given the greatest love for this man. He suffered depression until his dieing day. But he fought the best fight, and look what he did for our country? Yesterday, I wanted to remember him and honor him. I hope in some small way, I did.

Last week I took this photo of a lone tulip. It stood out by itself with all it's own beauty and strength. This is how I feel aoout those who suffer from Depression. You may feel you stand alone, but you are rising to greatness! You are some of the most valient this world has EVER seen. You are beautiful and your day will come when the greatest of us all...will come to you, heal you and say the powerful words..."It is finished."

God bless all.

*YOU'RE SO VAIN...*

...you probably think this song is about you."

Today I watched Brad Pitt being interviewed on The Today Show as he was at the Cannes festival. All I can say is, Brad, get over yourself!!! Talk about arrogant. He is one dude in this world that I would love that red carpet to be pulled out from under him.

Check out these killer photoz of him in his PEACH suit! (gag) I think Carly Simon's lyrics fit him so appropriatley.

"You walked into the party
Like you were walking onto a yacht
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye
Your scarf it was apricot
You had one eye in the mirror
As you watched yourself gavotte"
hahhaha Here is a little Carly Simon to go along with these photoz. ;)

*DANCING WITH THE STARS GIVES ME FEVER!*

I have become a complete addict to "Dancing with the stars." I have never been able to get into that show, but when I found out that Melissa Rycroft was going to be on it (after she got dumped on national television) I had to watch it and root for her. Now, I can't get enough of it. I have loved the whole cast! Here are just a few of my favorite things about this show/season,

1- Ty Pennington! That guy really did go from "Zero to Hero." He worked his ass off and it paid off! He is also so funny! I can't help but root for the underdog and I'm glad he made it as far as he did.

2- Derek Hough is one of the greatest choreographers I've ever seen. I'm not a Lil' Kim fan...but every week I couldn't wait to watch what he came up with. He's brilliant! Gilles doesn't give me fever like a lot of women in the world...but Derek did! Yow!

3- Gilles...do you love his sensitive nature or what? So many times he was teary eyed at the praise he was getting and I love that about him. He takes it so seriously and that makes him both fun & funny to watch.

4- The judges are great. Bruno is my favorite. That guy is hysterical!

5- Melissa and Tony are my favez! They have so much fun together and they are just stunning to watch. I think if she ever wanted to be a professional ballroom dancer, she could be in a heart beat. And Tony is just awesome! They are the couple I want to win! *Fingers crossed*

*HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LOVER*

It was my loverz birthday yesterday and it would be wrong of me not to note it.

*MAN'S BEST FRIEND*

I was outside the pet store yesterday and saw this dog just hangin' out of his owners truck. His owner was not far from the car and I asked if I could snap a few shots of him. He said I could and then proudly told me the dogs name was "Danger" :)What a cute little guy! Not the dude, the dog. ;)

*LOLLY & LENNY*

A couple months ago when my sister'z and I were in California, we went into a furniture store and saw this beautiful bird cage with these adorable birds. All 3 of us were taken with them. They would not leave each others side. And as soon as I started taking a few photoz they were little posers. SOOO CUTE! I didn't know their names so I named them myself...Lolly & Lenny :)

*THE LIGHT OF THE BODY IS THE EYE*

As I was editing this photo of my niece, Tiffany, I used a new tool on my photo program and was surprised when I saw the effect it had. The light came out from her eyes and face, and left only the one eye visible. I couldn't help but think of a scripture from the New Testament that seems to fit the photo so well.

Luke 11:34

34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.

*HOPE REKINDLED*

When I was outside today it was the first time I could actually smell Spring. I always wait for that moment and love when it comes.

*NO SUFFERING IS EVER IN VAIN*

My best friend Christine, reminded me a couple weeks ago of a religion class we were in one day and how the teacher said, "Nothing you suffer in this life will ever, ever, ever, EVER be in vain!!!" I needed to be reminded of this. I often feel in my heart that a lot of things have been in vain. I always try and fight off the "Doubting Thomas" in me, but I often find myself saying, what is the point? Did that sacrifice mean anything? Or what was the point of going through this or that? Are all my efforts and sacrifices in vain!!???

Well...today I tried to take a nap (ha!) and instead I layed there and was asking the Lord these same questions that I ask him everyday. I decided to read my scriptures and jumped back and forth cross referencing. I ended up in Isaiah chapter 55:10-13 and these are the words I read;

"8 ¶ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my aways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. "

I would love to be able to give the insight that I was given as I read this but I don't know if I can explain it. Maybe the biggest thing that stuck out to me was what I said before. That nothing we do or suffer will come back to us "void" there IS a divine purpose and point to our works on this earth. In the Book of Mormon we read the wise words of Alma to his son, Helaman,

"Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.
7 And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls."

~Alma 37:6-7

In the world we say "It all adds up" but in the kingdom we may say, "It all multiplies up!" And nothing we do or suffer will ever, ever, ever, EVER be in vain.

*GRANDMA HINCKLEY*

I blogged this last year about sharing an occasional glimpse from my old journals now and again. http://warmasylum.blogspot.com/2008/08/journals.html.
So, from the plethora of journals I have, I grabbed one and opened it up to the date nearest to today. This is what I read;

April 2003

"My Grandma, Bea Hinckley passed away on April 26, 2003. She will be SO missed. We love her dearly. She told me once before she passed away, "You are the jewels in my crown" I will always remember that. Elder Neal A. Maxwell was friends with my grandma because she was cousins with his wife, Colleen. He sent a nice letter to be read at the funeral. He said, "Bea was someone with spiritual spunk!" :) I LOVE that. I will miss her quick wit and wonderful sense of humour. I truly loved her."

This was a great journal entry to read today. Almost every night I talk to her in my mind and heart. I plead for her to help me in this life and sometimes even boss her around. :) I'm like, "Grandma, are you fighting for me up there or what!!?? If anyone can persuade the Lord to do something it's you!" She is Queen Fiesty! and I guarantee she has put in her two cents if not more! I got all my famous one liners from her. :) She could talk a mile a minute and most of the time you were laughing or growing extremely tired. Her favorite movie was Dumb and Dumber! hahahh No joke. I miss her...but when I'm the most sad, I feel her close to me. I know she is fighting for me in heaven, I know she will never leave me.

God bless you Grandma...you are the jewels in MY crown. (That's if I ever get one! I never won "Queen" when I was a dancer...so you just never know ;)

*MAGICAL JESSICA*

Every once in awhile I run across a photograph that I can't take my eyes off. A photo that makes me feel peaceful, inspired, childlike, happy and grateful all at the same time. Well...every photo that my friend Jessica has ever taken makes me feel that way. She is one of the most amazing photographers I have ever seen...and I have seen A LOT! I'm rarely jealous of another persons work. I try hard to just be inspired. BUT...I have to say that sometimes I'm a little jealous of her talent. She has this gift with lighting in her photoz that I have never seen before. And I guarantee that noone can imitate it. It's HER gift from Heavenly Father. She is one of the only people that I know that I would love to hang her work in my house. She's just an amazing person both inside and out! She's beautiful, magical and I love her!

If your ever wanting some fantastic photos, she's your girl! Take a look at her work, your in for a treat! :)

*CALL UPON THE LORD*

So it's 5am and I've been up all with a nasty migraine... I've been laying in bed holding on to my head, curled up in a ball and crying because it's just been horrific! I was praying in my heart and pleading for some help and comfort. The Lords still small voice whispered to me that it would subside soon. Within about another 30 minutes...it began to disperse. I'm feeling much better now and am grateful for that. I would love to be tucked away in my bed sleeping peacefully like a baby but beggars can't be choosers, right? :) So I decided to write a small blog to give thanks.I don't know how people make it in this life without an understanding that God lives, He loves us, He has a plan for us and He will "come to us in everytime of trouble." It doesn't always feel like it but I know HE is here for me...and for you. :)I took this photo yesterday in Alpine. It reminds me of how I felt tonight. Hanging down, tired and tearful.

*FALLING FOR BLEU*

My nephews and nieces have all had little videos or collages I've put together for them. It's my trade mark and I do it in hopes that they feel both loved and special. By doing this for them, it also warms my own heart. Last year on Kaul's Birthday I made him a photo collage and then turned it into a poster for his wall. (He LOVED it!) And ever since then, his brother, Bleu, wanted one too. So, I just finished it and it's in the process of getting enlarged. While putting it together, my music was playing in the background and the song "Falling in love at a coffee shop" came on. I adore this song! And as I looked at his photos I just kept thinking how everyone who meets Bleu instantly falls for him. He will steal your heart by just being himself. His sweet and tender disposition could melt even the hardest heart. He also has this inner cheerfulness and peace. He is just happy with the common joys of life.
This song just seemed to fit in so many ways and I couldn't resist making a little video. You will love it! :)

*Mi cumpleaños*

On March 28th 1974, the #1 song on the radio was "Sunshine on my shoulders" by John Denver. I'm not sure if anyone knows how kool that is...since that was the day I was born and that just happens to be one of my favorite songs of all time.
I was born in the small town of Elko, Nevada. I still have a hard time claiming that area of the world...and yet it was my lot to be born in that "special" town. Apparently I weighed five pounds and my head was the size of an orange that fit inside my dads hand. (my mom likes to tell me that) And it was also pointed out to me that I was the most beautiful baby EVER. Mothers are bias and I really have no proof that this is true because there were no pictures taken of me until I was 3 months. And in the one picture I have, I am funny looking! :) So...that's my baby history. So, my 35th birthday recently came upon me. I had expressed to my family that I really didn't want any kind of party or gathering this year. I just wasn't into it. I mean I honestly love getting older...for realz! But this year *35* just didn't seem to settle right and I wanted to ignore it! I wanted to keep it quiet and simple. Apparently that fell on deaf ears (shocking :) and of course the fam always has some kind of surprise up their sleeves for me. Pam called and asked if she could bring me lunch. I told her that was fine. A couple hours later...the knock at the door came. I was in my pj'z and could see through my sheer curtain that there was more than ONE person outside. Infact it appeared to look like a small crowd. I was NOT happy. I cracked the door open and low and behold...the cast of TWILIGHT stood before me bearing flowers and gifts! Not to mention that my mom, pam and Tiffany were hiding behind them! I couldn't help but bust up laughing! My family really are clever & funny...and It was a great little surprise. My sis asked why I wasn't dressed for the day and I was like, DUH! I thought you were just bringing me lunch! She told me to throw myself together and that we were GOING to lunch. We ended up hitting the Cheesecake factory (which I love) and then opening presents. It was fun and yet still simple the way I wanted it. Here are some classic photos of my cardboard loverz! :D

*CATCHING UP/SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS*

I've been slacking on my blog lately and have wanted to catch up on random happenings...but just haven't been motivated. It's not good because I also stopped writing in my journal and that's something that is really important for me to do. Sooooo...I'm going to try and play catch up in the next couple dayz. *BEHOLD YOUR LITTLE ONES*

The Book Of Mormon
3 Nephi 17:19-23

19 And it came to pass that Jesus spake unto them, and bade them arise.
20 And they arose from the earth, and he said unto them: Blessed are ye because of your faith. And now behold, my joy is full.
21 And when he had said these words, he wept, and the multitude bare record of it, and he took their little children, one by one, and blessed them, and prayed unto the Father for them.
22 And when he had done this he wept again;
23 And he spake unto the multitude, and said unto them: Behold your little ones.

*IN THE SUN*

It's one of the those nights where I stumbled on a song that seemed to fit my train of thought lately of an experience I went through. Almost like getting a letter in the mail from a person you would never expect...reading words you've needed to hear.

This being a too personal story to tell...I would still like to share the lyrics and the song. I could only find this live version. But it doesn't compare to the recorded one. Grab it off iTunes. It's worth a buck or two. :)

*In the sun*

~by Michael Stipe & Coldplay
(originally by Joseph Arthur)

I picture you in the sun wondering what went wrong
And falling down on your knees asking for sympathy
And being caught in between all you wish for and all you seen
And trying to find anything you can feel that you can believe in

May gods love be with you
Always
May gods love be with you

I know I would apologize if I could see your eyes
cause when you showed me myself I became someone else
But I was caught in between all you wish for and all you need
I picture you fast asleep
A nightmare comes
You cant keep awake

May gods love be with you
Always
May gods love be with you

cause if I find
If I find my own way
How much will I find
If I find
If I find my own way
How much will I find
You

I don’t know anymore
What it's for
I’m not even sure
If there is anyone who is in the sun
Will you help me to understand
cause I been caught in between all I wish for and all I need
Maybe you’re not even sure what it's for
Any more than me

May gods love be with you
Always
May gods love be with you

*I AM THE OCEAN AND I AM SORROWFUL*

I am the ocean and I am sorrowful. My waves have crossed not a few but the numbers of the sand. I have swallowed the wicked and filled the earth at command. And I must do it again…but I know not when. I reason with the angels but they cannot say either for they know not. I delight in bringing mercy and justice. My waves listen for the sound of the horn to blow for all people and for me that I may roll with the earths scroll and be made anew and be cleansed. But for now, it is late…the sky is black and my spirit is heavy. I hold the small ship that never moves, the ship that holds His daughter. I love her because she first loved me. She walked my shoreline many times. She dreamed lovely dreams and entrusted me with their care. But now my touch stings her and my mist recoils her and I mourn for her. My anger rises and I thrash upon the great rocks for I am helpless and cursed. Oh how I long to part for her as I did for the ancients! That deliverance may be hers. I call upon the Moon, the Milky Way and their twinkling’s that they may shine upon her. But even they had to part from her and she is left to whimper in confinement. The lights of her rescue boats grew too dim, they could no longer see... for long was their journey and they were forced to turn back. No one can see her. But I can…I surround her and I will hold her with my stillness that she may not be disturbed for a moment. I have hidden her dreams beneath my corals that they may never be separated from me…I will hold them always that she may believe in me. He that created me has been quiet for too long. Her bones are frail and her breath is shallow. Her sash in satin is now rope that binds. She has been made afraid, mocked and seized against my will. She will no longer speak...she can no longer speak. And so, in her behalf, I cry to the heavens, IT IS ENOUGH!

I am the ocean and I am sorrowful.

*I WOULD RATHER GO BAREFOOT*

Remember when you were young and sometimes you didn't want to eat your food...and your mom would say, "There are starving children in Africa who would be happy to eat that!" WELL...recently I saw a photo of the "New season" shoes at Urban Outfitters. I looked at the shoez and literally thought it was a joke. I would not even pay a quarter for any of them! Yes...I know, there are people who don't have shoes...but guess what? If they saw these, they would rather go barefoot, as would I!!!
I might sound like a bit of a shoe snob but really, these are atrocious. Goodbye Urban Outfitters...you've failed me for too long!

*WELL SAID*

Watch this before reading my post.

Day of Faith: Personal Quests for a Purpose - 3. Rachel Esplin from Harvard Hillel on Vimeo.

I Find it remarkable that this young lady, Rachel Esplin, was able to explain the gospel and some very tough questions given to her by a journalist at Harverd University with such confidence and grace. She is only 20 years old but obviously to me, an old soul. She taught and shared with a solid testimony... and that made all the difference.

A dear teacher of mine wrote me a letter before I went on my mission. He said something that I think applys well to this post;

"Remember that teaching and working by the spirit is not a dramatic thing, but is a quiet process that arises unforced from a life of peaceful diligent, unswerving devotion. If what you say is the truth, and you say it purely and with honest conviction, people will feel the spirit of truth being taught to them and will recognize that inspiration and revelation has come into their hearts."

I think she did this perfectly. Respect you, Rachel Esplin, respect to you.

ps. Don't you love the guy on the left (who I believe is Jewish)silently supporting her? You could see and feel that he was impressed with her. :)

*TRUTH ALWAYS PREVAILS*

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints and hearing that some of our sacred temple ordinances will be shown on a t.v. series is terribly disheartening. And at the same time, I feel this great sense of peace knowing that the work of the Lord will NOT be frustrated. The Savior is at the healm of this work and any who attempt to destroy or molest the sacred ordinances of this gospel will find themselves "Kicking against the pricks." The work of the Lord will continue to flourish and grow throughout the earth.

"No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent, till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the Great Jehovah shall say the work is done”

~Joseph Smith

Please take a moment to read the statement released by The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, whether you are a member or not. I have watched my church show much respect to all faiths and religions. Can we not have that same respect? There are people in this world who teach without a Testimony and misconstrue the true teachings of our church. I am grateful for the encouragment to follow our modern day Prophet, Elder Thomas S. Monson. In this I find safety and peace.

KiM*

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SALT LAKE CITY 9 March 2009

*Statement from The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints*

"Like other large faith groups, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sometimes finds itself on the receiving end of attention from Hollywood or Broadway, television series or books, and the news media. Sometimes depictions of the Church and its people are quite accurate. Sometimes the images are false or play to stereotypes. Occasionally, they are in appallingly bad taste.

As Catholics, Jews and Muslims have known for centuries, such attention is inevitable once an institution or faith group reaches a size or prominence sufficient to attract notice. Yet Latter-day Saints – sometimes known as Mormons - still wonder whether and how they should respond when news or entertainment media insensitively trivialize or misrepresent sacred beliefs or practices.

Church members are about to face that question again. Before the first season of the HBO series Big Love aired more than two years ago, the show’s creators and HBO executives assured the Church that the series wouldn’t be about Mormons. However, Internet references to Big Love indicate that more and more Mormon themes are now being woven into the show and that the characters are often unsympathetic figures who come across as narrow and self-righteous. And according to TV Guide, it now seems the show’s writers are to depict what they understand to be sacred temple ceremonies.

Certainly Church members are offended when their most sacred practices are misrepresented or presented without context or understanding. Last week some Church members began e-mail chains calling for cancellations of subscriptions to AOL, which, like HBO, is owned by Time Warner. Certainly such a boycott by hundreds of thousands of computer-savvy Latter-day Saints could have an economic impact on the company. Individual Latter-day Saints have the right to take such actions if they choose.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an institution does not call for boycotts. Such a step would simply generate the kind of controversy that the media loves and in the end would increase audiences for the series. As Elder M. Russell Ballard and Elder Robert D. Hales of the Council of the Twelve Apostles have both said recently, when expressing themselves in the public arena, Latter-day Saints should conduct themselves with dignity and thoughtfulness.

Not only is this the model that Jesus Christ taught and demonstrated in his own life, but it also reflects the reality of the strength and maturity of Church members today. As someone recently said, “This isn’t 1830, and there aren’t just six of us anymore.” In other words, with a global membership of thirteen and a half million there is no need to feel defensive when the Church is moving forward so rapidly. The Church’s strength is in its faithful members in 170-plus countries, and there is no evidence that extreme misrepresentations in the media that appeal only to a narrow audience have any long-term negative effect on the Church.

Examples:

During the Mitt Romney election campaign for the presidency of the United States, commentator Lawrence O’Donnell hurled abuse at the Church in a television moment that became known among many Church members as “the O’Donnell rant.” Today, his statements are remembered only as a testament to intolerance and ignorance. They had no effect on the Church that can be measured.
When the comedy writers for South Park produced a gross portrayal of Church history, individual Church members no doubt felt uncomfortable. But once again it inflicted no perceptible or lasting damage to a church that is growing by at least a quarter of a million new members every year.
When an independent film company produced a grossly distorted version of the Mountain Meadows Massacre two years ago, the Church ignored it. Perhaps partly as a result of that refusal to engender the controversy that the producers hoped for, the movie flopped at the box office and lost millions.
In recent months, some gay activists have barraged the media with accusations about “hateful” attitudes of Latter-day Saints in supporting Proposition 8 in California, which maintained the traditional definition of marriage. They even organized a protest march around the Salt Lake Temple. Again, the Church has refused to be goaded into a Mormons versus gays battle and has simply stated its position in tones that are reasonable and respectful. Meanwhile, missionary work and Church members in California remain as robust and vibrant as ever, and support for the Church has come from many unexpected quarters — including some former critics and other churches.
Now comes another series of Big Love, and despite earlier assurances from HBO it once again blurs the distinctions between The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the show’s fictional non-Mormon characters and their practices. Such things say much more about the insensitivities of writers, producers and TV executives than they say about Latter-day Saints.

If the Church allowed critics and opponents to choose the ground on which its battles are fought, it would risk being distracted from the focus and mission it has pursued successfully for nearly 180 years. Instead, the Church itself will determine its own course as it continues to preach the restored gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

*AND SO IT BEGINS...*

Not so far in the near future, U2 will embark on their "No line on the Horizon" tour. My heart gets butterflies just thinking about it! I haven't been loving the new album...a bit dissapointed, but friends have said, "It will grow on you!" and I admit that it's starting to! I DO love the song "Magnificant"...I think it's what I hoped the whole album would sound like. It reminds me more of that Joshua Tree feeling. I saw them play it live on David Letterman and it's amazing!

*SOMETIMES AN ANGEL?*

I just realized that in ONE photo I don't have redeye. So maybe I'm half & half. Half Spawn/Half Angel?

On a more serious note, let me be honest. I was recently thinking about my lifes past. Where did I start from and where am I at now? Once upon a time I was a sunday school teacher for 15 & 16 year olds for about 6 years. I loved teaching. I loved them! I wanted to help them see life in a different light. I wanted them to know that life is beautiful and that miracles can happen. I wanted them to feel UNDERSTOOD and know who they are. Recently I found some of these students of mine on facebook. Within the same week several of them wrote me kind words about how I influenced them for good and that they were grateful I had been their teacher. I can't express how that made me feel. I realize instantly that it really wasn't me...it was Heavenly Father who touched their hearts. But somehow and for some reason, he allowed me to be an instrument in His hands. I was allowed to be angel of sorts to them...and they were and ARE angels to me. We need more of that in this life. More angels! I once had a teacher who shared these profound words from The Wizard of Oz. As the witch begins to melt away she cries out to Dorthy and says;

"Oh what a world! What a world! Who could have guessed that a good little girl like you could have destroyed all of my beautiful wickedness!"

For some reason those words hit me harder that day than they ever had! I think I had watched that movie dozens of times and never really thought deeply about what was being said. Can one person really help destroy the wickedness on this earth? Obviously the answer is yes. So where have I come from and where am I at now? I think that it's been a long winding road, that I have made mistakes...but for the most part...I have given it my all and I am happy with the road I chose. I can say with all sincerity, "My life is my testimony." I hope I can continue to press forward and be an influence for good. An angel of sorts. (A tad bit irreverent one at times...I can't help myself :) But an angel nonetheless. Fingers crossed!

*THE DEVILS SPAWN*

...I think I might be the Devils spawn. In every photo I have ever taken, I have red eye! Does anyone else? NO! I can be standing with 20 people in a photo and I will be the ONLY ONE with red eyes. Now you can give me all the technical reasons why this happens...but the plain fact is, "that one of these things is not like the others." I always have to try and use the redeye reducer and then it looks like my eyes are this funky blue/black color. Not cute.
